Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Like so many of you, life has been a little challenging. I can't believe we're going into year 2 of a pandemic (supposedly, we should be calling it an epidemic now). It's a crazy, crazy time.

How are all you? Good, I hope. 

I'm checking in because I just posted the first story I've finished in 2 freaking years. What's up with that? It's for The Mentalist fandom and it's a story I've had in mind since 2008. It's Jane/Cho, naturally, but an AU set in 1939—just a warning for those of you who don't like AUs. I'm posting it in 2 chapters because I haven't finished the final edits on the coda section.

The next thing I'll probably post will be a short Jimmy/Duncan piece for the show Shetland. I have fallen hard, I have fallen fast. It's so much fun:)

Woooooooo, CONGRATULATIONS! I mean, finishing a story is a challenge, but add on top finishing a story right now what with *waves hands around*? You rule.

What also rules is that you have fallen for Jimmy/Duncan!!! I am so delighted, and would love to see whatever you write! I am nuts for them. ♥

:) Thanks! This was the story I asked you about. I finally decided (when my brain de-fogged) that I was never going to be able to write like you so I just muddle along.

And wow, I love Shetland so much. I'm up to season 4 but I'm rewatching those so I can drag the other seasons out:) A certain mutual friend gave me the dvds so I'm thinking about fanart for the first time in a while:)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! I do hope everything returns to some semblance of normal in 2022.

Christmas has been a low-key affair for me this year but still with family obligations. I got an update you'd posted a new story and I am so excited! I plan to read it now Xmas Day is behind me. I do love Jane/Cho... and oooooooohhhh.... YES. Jimmy/Duncan sounds good too.

I'm glad Xmas was low-key for you. I was able to see family this year so I had such a great time:)

SO glad to hear you had a good Christmas. Just New Year's Eve to get through now! I'm still working hard on winter holiday exchanges/wishlists and I'm looking forward to giving myself a nice break soon :)

Moving house had stressful moments last year but, despite all the things I need to do here, I am so glad I made the move.

On a fandom front I am secretly hoping you checked out The Old Guard and will feel inspired to write/create art for Joe and Nicky!!!!

I sort of did the same thing. I sold my house at the beginning of 2020 and was so glad I did. I would have gotten a bit more money if I waited a year but it was so wonderful not having to worry about a mortgage during the start of a pandemic. And I'm not sure I want a house anymore. I really like living in an apartment.

Oh, funny enough, I was planning on watching The Old Guard this weekend:) I'm supposed to watch it with a family member but with Omicron all over the place, I might end up watching it on my own:)

I sold at a good time, taking advantage of a tax break due to the pandemic which saved me about $11,000!
